Really? Well (with all due respect) Eamon Holmes (whoever he is) would probably be hard pressed to find his arse with the aid of a map and a torch... :smt003

We did have a good few weeks of decent weather up to the middle of October, which thankfully enabled me to put a roof on my shed/outhouse before the weather closed in, but now it's downhill all the way to winter.

I hate this time of year. People rabbit on about the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness and all that malarkey, but to me it signals the end of summer and good-weather bike riding. Riding around in the cold and damp, looking out for leaves on the road etc. has really lost its appeal as I get older. I need some warmth in my bones. I feel like the swallow that got left behind when all his mates migrated south for the winter.

The pull of the South of France gets stronger with every passing season...

Well.. it's tough out here. Woke up to fog this morning, but now it looks like I've got to retreive my shorts again because they are forecasting mid 20's for the next few days! How fair is that?

I'm sure Dale won't mind - he's on Facebook discussing whether he should get a tatoo

back on topic sort of

Had a scary moment yesterday.

90ish on the A316 dual carriageway, came over a slight brow to be confronted by a fence panel crossing 2 lanes.

Thank christ it wasn't dark

D'you know, I think that that subject is probably used the most of Facebook? .. together with "what should I get and where should I have it". My usual reply is "an Anchor "and "on your arse!"

had the front come up a few weeks ago. I was towards the top end of the rev range in 3rd when i overtook a car, and hit a cats eye, but it was quite gentle and didnt go very high.

was fun though.
