Excellent! They don't taste the same when you're not there - I've tried!

Jumping the gun a little in mentioning this but discussions so far are very positive. I'm off on hols for a week tomorrow so didn't want to leave it 'till I got back and then find that people miss out as they haven't had sufficient notice to plan to come. BTW he understands other bikes too - it's not just for the Aprilia mob.
Unfortunately this plan didn't come together due to lack of time to sort it out (me being away, him having things on) and the dates not working out in the end.
Very sorry if people were expecting this.

On a positive note, Griff is keen to do something else with us at a later date .... so we can plan that in another thread.

Those coming, see you tomorrow. :smt006

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

This'll get you to the village hopefully, then turn left at the duckpond down Staithe Rd. NR13 3PS

I'll put an RS sticker at the roadside at the turn onto the track to the barn.

The final bit, Tunstall Rd from Halvergate is a dead end road where the locals aren't used to thro traffic. Beware pedestrians and farm machinery, and try not to upset our neighbours too much. Once at the site we have no neighbours and noise isn't a prob. :smt003

PM me for a mobby # in case you get lost in the depths of Norfolk if you wish.

Oh .... the ski jump ...

When you turn off the Acle straight (road from Acle to Gt Yarmouth) and go over the bridge, BE CAREFUL! The bridge does bite the unwary. That includes in a Car.

Tis an awesome launchpad though.
Can't find the link to `road safety` partnership locations atm . :smt017

Just back from dropping off a trailerload of firewood and there is a development. Staithe Farm (next door) seem to be preparing for their annual moto-cross w/e.

Don't get the wrong campsite. If theirs is in the usual place you pass it just before the track leading to our barn.
Their course will probably cross the track to the barn as soon as you turn on to it. The course is marked by tapes and there are usually stewards there to lift them for you to pass when it is in use.

That could add a bit of confusion to the w/e but also added interest. :smt001

Not found details of camera van sites but be warned of the sneaky gits layby after the A146 sliproad just past Norwich and be careful around the single lane part between Blofield and Acle. The 50 limit extends half a mile or so past the end of the single carriageway.

The turn off the A47 onto the ski jump is a very real accident blackspot. Crashes occur there several times EVERY week. Take care out there folks.

Chatting to our farmer host he is of the same opinion as me that the Met Office are wrong saying the seasons are a fortnight early this year. They are actually a month early.

He also reckons the tail end of Hurricane Bill will have cleared Tunstall by the w/e. :smt003

Well being a lazy git I've put it in my sat nav, my start will be around 11.15 Friday morning and if its dry then 3 hours is my estimate, 4 in the wet, (yeah I'm a wuss)

Still not got the cans packed so it'll have to do, and I've got to put the belly pan back on as I had a major leak from the oil pressure sensor (£8 cured that)

BTW the bike is filthy so don't stare, ain't got time to wash it. :smt012

As this will be my first visit to the Norfolk gatthering, I trust you will be gentle with me? :smt002

Just a shame I can't come on the bike! :smt013

I figure this is the first time for exactly 50%, so you are in good company :smt002
Not quite sure which half should be gentle with the other!

Hope you all have a great weekend, and I'm sorry I can't be there with you. Would have loved to have gone.

However, I'm not not sorry I'm not sharing a barn - I've heard a rumour that it's obligatory for Falconistas to fart profusely whilst sleeping.

You've got it wrong Mart ..... we don't bother waiting until we're asleep.

Thanks for good wishes Falken and MartDude.

It's a chilly morning but sunny with a small risk of light showers this afternoon. :smt001

What you might have to go through to get to these parts is a different question ............
