I've already got an excellent Ohlins shock for the Falco, but whenever I see one on offer or for sale I get 'buyers twitch'. In an ideal world I'd probably have 2 or 3 sitting around 'just in case'...

Which hasn't helped you sell the damn thing, but has made me feel a bit better...

I was under the impression that your '06 shock would not fit my '02 Falco. I am now thinking maybe I have been misinformed. Tell me what would I need to do, aside from pay you £200 (a fair price), to fit your shock ?? If I can do it, then I'd be more than happy to take the shock off you.

To be honest I thought I had a buyer who wanted to fit it to his 03 Tuono. he's been warned off by a Lincolnshire Tuono rider as he says the Ohlins shock for the earlier bikes is a different length, different stroke rate etc.. to the Ohlins for the later bikes (like this one)

This info has thrown me a bit as I though the only difference was the spring rate, hence fitting the linkages & dogbone from a 04-on RSVR or a Gen 2 Tuono 06-on would work fine. It measures the same length as the Ohlins I had fitted to the Falco so I'm not sure who is right or wrong

Maybe we can get some more feedback from other forum members. I wouldn't be happy selling anyone the shock to anyone if it doesn't work properly and there isn't a benefit to be had

Fair play to you good sir. My understanding is I would need to replace linkage, dogbone, swingarm and do some under tail hacking. A little too much of an undertaking for me, a hammer and a pair of grips.

I can assure you you wouldn't need to change the swinging arm or do any under tail hacking of any type. I did remove the small flap from under the battery tray on my Falco but only for aesthetics (and it unbolts rather than being cut off) the side plates & dogbone on the suspension yes (IMHO)

To be honest doing that job takes about 30 mins tops and needs only a few basic tools, sockets and an allen key. But you do need to support the bike so the rear of the bike is clear. I can swap the entire linkage assembly on my Tuono in about 15 mins now I've done it a few times, I can assure you it's nothing to be scared of as long as you have some basic spanner wielding abilities

This is not a sales plug though, if you're not happy no problem at all M8
