There is still hope Ian, they forcast a wonderful barbie summer for July etc., and we all know what we got, (very wet and quite cold).
Seems after much criticism they have decided that they can't do long term forecasts any more, (I always though tomorrow was too long term for them personally!), but they have issued a forecast for August in which they say it will be wetter and colder than average.
So that's it, get the barbies and sun beds out folks, and plan the bike ride outs!

I made my weather forecast in April.

https://www.ridersite.com/viewtopic.ph ... c&start=30Ok. Sept 4th to 6th is now booked.
It's my fav cos it is post harvest and pre sugar beet.
Kids are back to school and caravan season is over.
Verges will have been cut and good weather is guaranteed.
It doesn't seem to clash with other events.
Hols may be over for you but mine start on 9th Sept.DavShill wrote:Right then - It looks like it's going to have to be the 12th or 13th of Sept. Holidays will be over and we should get more of a turn out.
Off to Spain/France with mates on the bikes.
Anyways, have a good day(s) out fellas.
Dave

Does that mean you will be on the Portsmouth to Santander ferry on the 9th? If so you can have the pleasure of meeting me!Falco9 wrote:

Does that mean, you'll be on the M62 on the 12th or 13th of September Dave?wavey wrote:Does that mean you will be on the Portsmouth to Santander ferry on the 9th? If so, you can have the pleasure of meeting me!Falco9 wrote:

If so you'll have the dubious pleasure of meeting me, again!
Can't see me having any problems, so fine with me on either day.
No need to feed the pigeons, whippets ate them when they got back from being exercised.
Good job really, as now we're all back on't Dole agin, we can't afford dog food, well not for the dogs anyway!
Mills all shut years ago, so no "trouble" there any more.
Who will polish clogs?

Now this is a problem, we all recently swapped our clogs for crocks, now it looks like they may be going bust, but I'll leave that for someone else to sort.

Any southern Bwankers on the site who might want to offer a loan?

Yup I'm booked on that ferry. Excellent news, I look forward to meeting you. Me and a mate are staying over en-route the night before with the other 4 coming down first thing.wavey wrote:Does that mean you will be on the Portsmouth to Santander ferry on the 9th? Having 2 Aprilias on the ferry does increase the value of the ship I fair bit though. Should we inform Lloyds???

Err, no Howard, it means I'll be in Spain or France. I get the Le Havre ferry back on the 16th, and I've never met you (yet)HowardQ wrote:Does that mean, you'll be on the M62 on the 12th or 13th of September Dave?wavey wrote:Does that mean you will be on the Portsmouth to Santander ferry on the 9th? I'm probably stopping at my bros near Oxford on the 8th and then meeting up with about 12/13 other bikes at Portsmouth.Falco9 wrote:Yup I'm booked on that ferry. Sounds like a fair deal to me M8, only 6 of us going this year (p**s poor turnout) but I'm sure we''ll have a good laugh. Only 24hrs to kill isn't there? (I could be suffering severe alcohol posioning at the end of this trip, lol)wavey wrote:I'm probably stopping at my bros near Oxford on the 8th and then meeting up with about 12/13 other bikes at Portsmouth.Falco9 wrote:Yup I'm booked on that ferry. By the way, Howards response is aimed at Dave (Davshill) who is organising the North York's ride out (at least I'm assuming it's aimed at him) Not sure why he "quoted" your comments though???? Could be a "Sheffield" thing

See you on the 9th

Sorry Dave2, but yes my comment was meant as a "funny" reply for Dave1, (i.e. Davshill) regarding the original thread. It's just my weird sense of humour I'm afraid just using the same comment to let Dave1 know that somebody was still interested in joining him for a run through North Yorks in September, plus some added replies to DRider about the "habits" of us northern folk.
I'll go away now.
Have a good trip to Spain or France, there's some great roads to enjoy!
