Rider Down...Assistance Please

OK, some would say (inc most of my friends) that it had to happen as I've been riding a tad too fast for a long time now. So on our annual Scottish hoon whilst just north of Keilder water (great road mind) and going too fast on an unknown road I misjudged a bend and me and the "T" went flying through the bracken and endo'd into a ditch.

You'll hopefully be pleased to hear that I'm OK (Fat bikers DO bounce better I've just proved it) a bit (a lot) sore but miraculously OK, considering I cartwheeled into a ditch so deep I was invisible to all my friends who promptly rode straight past me and left me to my own devices (good job I wasn't too badly injured eh???) and amazingly the T survived amazingly well also.

My Renntec rack took a lot of the brunt but the rear plastics are toast. However the Rene's survived without a scratch, no idea how but they did, as did 99% of the bike; not a scratch anywhere else....pretty bloody amazing but maybe I was just lucky eh?

Now the assistance bit... the bike is rideable (I finished the weekend on her no sweat) Gaffer tape holding the plastics together but I did manage to break the small alloy bracket that holds the front brake master cylinder to the handlebar mount. Does anyone have one of these kicking around at all????

If they do and they want to sell it pleaseeeeeeeeeee let me know and I'll take it off your hands

Done the deep ditch bit myself. Scary!!

Just checked and I have no handlebar stuff at all, sorry dude. Meccano looks a good bet :smt002

Sounds like you need to get out on track a few times, its amazing how it kerbs your on-road shenanigans when you know you can go bollocks out with 99% less risk by booking a day

Rich, when I had my accident earlier in the year, I should have made it clear that there was no intention to make this a compulsory activity for the Aprilia mods.

Glad to hear you're ok and the Tuono's not so bad.

Sorry, but I'm another one that can't help on the part Rich, but really good news that both you and the bike came out of it relatively OK.
Although from personal experience the bruises take a day or so to come and the pain comes with them.
Hope you get things sorted quickly.

Yup I reckon a track day could be the way to go, but essentially I need to remember the throttle works "both" ways.

New plastics & bracket now ordered (£400 ouch!!!) but after cleaning the T thoroughly yesterday. I couldn't find another scracth anywhere else! I'm still amazed (and delighted) that the bike got away so lightly.

Amazing "Aprilia" fact No 3501..... Tuono left hand seat decal £1.51, right hand seat decal (identical although reversed of course) £15.57........You've gotta luv those Italians eh??

My back is still killling me though, but guess what? no symphathy at home! (no change there then, lol)

Just maybe Tuonos almost always go down on the left - hence far greater volumes sold and they are into volume pricing with their supplier.
Unfortunately, it seems that only one Tuono has suffered rhs damage and the pricing must be for a one-off.

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
