piece of shite software

#1 Post by Aladinsaneuk » Mon Jul 13, 2009 5:15 pm

just ranting but

windows vista.... what a a piece of shite

i keep one pc for playing lotro on and this weekend i bought a new video card.... and for silly direct x 10 reasons, i put vista on

it spent hours installing, then hours updating, argued with me about not wanting assorted pieces of shite from redmond etc... then this morning it had installed a pile of updates overnight and looked at me funny...

then proceeded to shit itself, screw the hard drive and say fuck you - I know you are running a Mac in this room....

bastard piece of satan spawn shite!

That is all

(Now formatting and reinstalling everything again... 'king bastard - i hope bill gates gets haemhorroids)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Not had any problems with Vista here...yet. IE crashed a couple of times, not bad for a two week old machine :smt003 Still struggling with the Mac, doesn't seem as intuitive of flexable as Windows.

Shouldn't this be in the techie forum, anyway??

Trouble with Macs is they're prehistoric, oh and they have their woes as well software wise.

If you want reliable then you need unix :smt016

Try windows 7, it's much less memory hungry (apparently). The Release Candidate is available foc, lasts till march when it will shut down every 2 hours (just to piss you off a bit more).

I always thought that the Apple software, like linux was based on unix anyway

it is based on unix

and mac os still, just works - and i have not really found any software woes - may not have the choice of winblows software, but what there is is better, and invariably cheaper....

indeed it even runs windows well - as apple make their own drivers

and as for security - it does not have the blatent holes that that piece of shite from M$ does

and unlike linux it is not reliant on builds - having said that I would rather run linux than windoze now a days

I have never really played with unix though - i have dabbled and found it a steep learning curve

A lady on the airplane strikes up a conversation with the fellow sitting in the next seat, "..and where are you going?"

"I'm going to San Francisco to a Unix convention," he replies.

"Eunuchs convention?" she questions. "I didn't know there were that many of you."
