I agree with all of those, especially the fit. Makes your ride better and less tiring and should you decide to fall down the protection stays where it should be.Aladinsaneuk wrote:no matter what you buy, get a good fit.... that will help a lot

I had my Dainese leather pants and a Hein Gericke textile jacket on when I got knocked off at 45mph by a transit van 2 years ago. I spent most of the time in the air before landing on my back in some brambles. The jacket was OK bar some grass stains. My left leg hit something, maybe bumper, that tore open my boot and ripped the pants up to the shin, the hard plastic shin guard had a cut about 4 inches long in it. What ever did that also sliced me down to the bone.
So I guess they saved my leg. BUT.
In normal use since. a new pair have needed sending back as the stitching came apart on the belt tag. The press stud fell out. And the stitching near the zip at the bottom of my Dainese jacket has started to come apart.
I won't buy Dainese again

I haven't been down the road for a while and the last time resulted in minor scuffs on my leather jeans. Don't have them anymore but they were still usable for years afterwards.
Have got Scott Leathers now and thay are really comfortable and a good fit.
Many racers wear Scott leathers so they must be well made and offer good protection. Lots of police forces use them also so that is probably a good recommendation as far as safety and durability is concerned.
Blue.

I've got a Dannisport one piece suit that was thoroughly tested at cadwell a couple of years ago. Came off going into Coppice at the end of the start finish straight, cold tyres and the front slide away (first session after lunch - lesson learned
) The marshall reckoned i was doing about 85-90mph. my left hip and shoulder took most of the abrasion. the leather held up superbly well and only a tiny amount of stitching came away. Had them repaired...... but chose not to have the battle scars polished out.
I can recommend Dannisport stuff.
