Strange, my silver falco's stickers weren't laquered on the fairings (small aprilia sticker on side of tank was). THey were very very sticky I admit but some patience with a hairdryer soon sorted it.
As for your ingrained shite, was the same with mine too. A lot of T-cut and if you have it, detailing clay, pulled the crap out then I used boat wax (father in law builds multi million pound boats so pinched it off him) to seal and it madea world of difference. Silver is very good at hiding the dirt and its not till you get it clean you realise how bad it was!
