In terms of Falcos for sale currently I'd be looking at this one - got all the right mods

Yep that looks a good one .... still with room to haggle on the price I feel.

Tiny mileage!

tish simon, Brown is the new rust, you should know better....

..... and with "rust" that gorgeous I wish I had one

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I've just called the ebay guy. It looks like someone has pipped me to it though. A guy has put on a deposit and is tavelling up from Frome to have a butchers. So I've told him if he doesn't get on with it or tries to haggle I'd be willing to pay his full asking price if it is as described. It certainly seems worth £3200.

I'm test riding another one on Ebay on Friday - this one

See how I get on with that and I may go for the one at Shorrocks with some serious haggling so I can add some of the bits you've all recommended.

Top work all, looking forward to being a proper member

oooh, forgot to tell you.

My new boss has offered me a free loan of his 1999 GXR600 until I sort myself out as long as I get it insured, which I can do TPFT for £250 (parked on an East London st.!).

What a very nice man....Who knows, I may end up buying that off him for £1500, only got 7500m on the clock. I doubt I will buy it though, I'm presuming it's going to be too revvy for me.

You made it over from the dark side then.

As I said it's a bit of a waste of time asking this lot as you will only ever get one answer but to be honest as soon as you try one out I think you will be sold on it anyway. If nothing else just look at how much more bike you are getting for your money than the other bikes you are looking at.

As opposed to Crow Black .... as in fluttering and squaking around the stadium and getting easily frightened by pretend people stuffed with straw ....

cheers backmarker. Well for sure I'm definitley not going to get a VFR.

As long as I'm comfortable on the Falco I test ride then it's a winner and I will be doing the shock mod, double bubble screen and clip on handlebars as soon as possible. I'm not fussed about having loud (er), racy cans. Then further down the line a luggage rack and luggage. Do Aprilia do hard luggage like Honda do?

I have just haggled a dealer down from 3795 to 3200 over the phone so if still available once I've got my loan sorted out then bloody get in!!!

What about this one....

Ohlins and Blue Flames with a reasonably low mileage and a pretty good colour, i.e it's not Brown...... :smt016
We have a winner! Gorgeous cans + Ohlins.

Yeah - that one sounds good.

BTW here are pictures of the various colour schemes. The 2002 colours were US market - so hardly any of them here. The Oasis Green is Ultra Rare - so don't set your heart on one of them unless Hornetrider decides to sell his!

Easiest sales job we've done ! .... really should have negotiated a commission deal with Aprilia (and, let's face it, they really had no idea how to sell the Falco)

As for luggage, Aprilia did an official soft luggage kit for the Falco - they come up for sale from time to time.
Some people have worked out how to adapt the pannier frames to take the Givi Monokey hard luggage (might have a go at that myself one day).
Info is either on this forum or the AF1 forum (maybe both)
