It is why the screening age was raised from 20 to 25 in 2004.
Some health authorities are even refusing GPs requests for tests at a younger age.

smear test efficiency in this country is bollocksed by politics - for those who doubt go read up on the black report - that kind of shit still happens

BUT

I have several views on this thing - I dislike Jade, but feel for her and her family - CA womb/cervix is not nice - possibly one of the worst cancers I have ever nursed if that makes sense

What she is doing, is , hard - but if she is raising capital for her kids, in the only way she can, then so be it - I cannot object to that really

the fact that so many more women are going for their smears is a good thing - an incredibly good thing

if only we can get the 12/13 vaccinations sorted out, then I hope this disease will be beaten

sort of mixed feelings all round i guess

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

My thoughts mirror Pete's comments above, her kids will benefit, and it is raising awareness for some people.
Everybody on here has different views, and have a right to them.
Some of us have had to live with it in our families and are all too aware.
My parents both died suddenly from cancer more than 25 years ago and as an only child it hit me badly. My dad's cancer started in his stomach and my mother had cancer of the womb, both had spread too far before they were aware. Then 7 or 8 years ago my wife found she had a large ovarian cyst, which as we later found was just starting to become cancerous in the centre, but removal saved her before it spread.
She is now fully clear and there are no further problems, but going through the two situations above was hell, anything that makes people more aware and raises the profile within the NHS, so more problems are caught early has to be good news.

Moving slightly away from Jade, but still on the subject of the big C, it was recommended to me two years ago by a Professor of Oncology at Christies, to eat a brazil nut every day to stave of cancer of the prostate. As my dad died of it and my elder brother has it, I recon I am high on the list!
The nuts high selenium content is the key. So, every morning, one brazil nut is eaten. :smt004

Bit obvious isn't it, Max Clifford, the man who finds the next ignorant person and uses them for his own advantage.
