Apparently a feature on trials riding by Vickie Butler Henderson - could be worth a watch

Don't bet on it.... she got bent over by a 17 year old rally driver last week... she'll be noisier than she usually is......

My one and only claim to fame (and it's a tenuous one) is that I once beat multiple world trial champ Dougie Lampkin in a trial at Tong (yes I know I was in my late twenties and he was about 12 but..............he was British "A" (or B) class champ at the time.......and yes I know I rode out of my skin and he had a mare of a day...but a win's a win I say especially because he was bloody brilliant even as a kid)

I rode trials for about 10yrs back in the mid eighties onwards and its a great sport (I wouldn't be this size if I still did it, thats for sure), I had a long chat with Dougie over at the Milan show a couple of years ago and his enthusiasm for the sport was as great as ever. Considering his size he's a big bloke 6'2"(ish) it's a miracle he could win so often and for so long. Most modern trials riders are tiny and weight nowt!

Hopefully 5th gear will do the sport a favour, it's needs showcasing more often, I just hope VBH doesn't squeal all the way through it (yes I know she will)

OK, showing off time is now over!! :smt003

Sorry but I like the woman, (in a car or on a bike she always has a go!).
In this case she did well and learned quite a lot in a relatively short time. She certainly impressed Dougie.
She obviously wants to learn about all sorts of biking, as well as all sorts of car driving, (road/rally/circuit).
I have no problem with anybody who has a go and really gets involved, rather than the ones that regularly express an opinion in the media, when they know absolutely nothing and have never tried it.
Good luck to her as far as I am concerned.

We never watch Fifth Gear - it's nowhere near as entertaining as Top Gear! (Prolly cos it's actually about the vehicles rather than a comedy prog!).
