Thanks for the advice Thumper. It hasn't turned up yet so I have time to work this out before it is fitted.
Funny thing is that after about 22000 miles on 2 Falcos with OE stands I have not had one fall over. However I am sick of worrying that it will and spending times for a parking spot that will keep it at the optimum angle.

Yeah mine never fell over with the OE stand but parking was always complicated by finding a bit of ground with the slope/camber in tolerance .... and increased fear every time the wind blew.IsleFalco wrote:

Since fitting the Gixer stand such concerns are all but gone.

IsleFalco,
I did this modification. However, I found that when I used the Honda switch then it did not cut the engine when the stand was still down and 1st gear was selected. Bike still worked fine. If you can live with that ( e.g. You always remember to raise the stand before setting off) then it's an easy mod.
I decided to use the Falco switch, which means drilling a suitably sized hole in the VTR stand to receive the switch pin.
Job done and I am a lot happier leaving the bike unattended.
Blue.

I've never had a problem in remembering to raise my sidestand before setting off and viewed this cut out as a pointless complication ..... until it saved me twice.bluedimension wrote:IsleFalco,

Scenario. Bike in garage (not much room due to other bikes & various junk). Start bike in garage to warm it up. Climb on bike to paddle it out backwards. Catch the gear lever with leg .... lurch ... cut out.
Twice I've done this now (I just don't learn). Fortunately I've been paddling backwards with the stand down - laziness as I'll have to park it outside the garage to close the door.
Now I'm quite a fan of this cut out.
