quick release seat pins

Anyone fitted the quick release seat pins ?
They seem to lift the back of the seat up because of the lock nut,

any picture of them fitted ?

Not got any pictures, but they're not as simple as they sound. The fit isn't that good, I had to Dremel out two chunks of the bodywork to get the seat on and off with them fitted. It's hidden with the seat on, but still annoying. And the height has to be just right when you screw them into the frame as well or the seat won't sit right. I used some VERY strong thread locking goo rather than faff around trying to get nuts and washers in the right place and it's held for the last year.

I tossed mine when I realised they were not all they are cracked up to be. I still have them somewhere and I might try and fit them again if I feel like I have too much time on my hands.

I made my own out of a couple of coach bolts. Cut the heads off screwed them through the holes and used an anti rattle washer and a nut on the underside to stop them from moving. drilled holes in them and chucked a R clip through. Prolly cost about £2 all in.

Not the easiest thing to get the seat off and on now, but better than the bolt option. IMO, and I may try this sometime, the pins should have a slight bend in them to work properly.

I'm with Nooj on the bodywork, didn't have to cut anything, but it's a damn tight fit if you don't.

after 45 mins I was about to sling 'em, but I thought I would ask first,

I've got the Sargent quick release jobies. No problems with fit.

Yeah - I've a set of these fitted.
Took a little while to adjust things so they fitted reasonably easy.

They were a bit of a pain originally - kept dropping the R-clips until I got a set of these:

Quick Release Pins - retaining kit

These have made it much easier to remove the clips and eliminated the fear of loosing them. Still can be a bit of a fiddle to get the clips in but much easier than the original bolts.
