Welcome to the site Dyzio. :smt006 :smt006 :smt006

You've bought a great bike :smt002

Just enjoy it initially, your upgrade ideas seem fine although I have had no problems with the starter relay on mine either. Had it more than 4 1/2 years and 20K + miles.
I've had a lot of bikes over many years, but the Falco is the best I've ever had. Still gives me the same big grin every time I ride it!
Hope you enjoy yours as much!

Welcome on board M8

My advice..........leave it standard! :smt003 :smt003 :smt003

I also never had a starter relay problem with my old Falco or any other problem to be honest. You've bought a superb bike and I'm sure you'll enjoy riding it.

Most of the mods used by forum members here are very much related to how much use you are planning on getting out of the bike. Scottoilers etc.. are superb if you ride in all weathers and go touring etc.....otherwise a tin of Wurth dry lube will be just as effective if you only plan on summer use. The side stand however is an issue, especially if you plan on playing with the suspension and the shock length as the bike can easily fall over :smt010 There is plenty of info on that here

Loud cans are a must as is a renegade airkit along with a good chip (The Aprilia Carbon SL chip is good) you must re-valve the forks, fit an ohlins shock, a mille swinging arm and convert to a 2-1 Mille exhaust. The Barnett clutch will give a lifetime of use as well. Personally I found fitting a steering damper also helped but it depends on your riding style etc..

I'm guessing yours isn't a silver one so unfortunately you will always be at a disadvantage when it comes to sheer speed :smt003 so fitting a 16t front sprocket will help the low-mid range pull whilst only knocking a few mph off the top end.

With any luck you will be totally skint by April, because these bikes can suck a lot of money out of your pocket if you let em!

Welcome... am the forums resident klutz (destroying what was once a pretty blue 03 by installment). Before it got too tatty I fitted mille indicators with clear lenses and a tail tidy - superficial but sexy. The indicators suit the style of the Falco nicely and imho look more elegant than some of the LED set ups you'll see here. Enjoy the ride!

I think Falco9 probably means a 15t front sprocket to step the gearing down a bit - 16t is standard on the Falco, but 17t is standard on the other 1000's (Mille/Tuono) so 16t would be a step down on those. I think (but I await correction...)

Thanks guys,
The idea of the relay cam from someone I know from sv650.org and af1 (TheGr33k), he had problems with his and I've got the part no from him.
As for the mods, don't want to go too far, although the Mille swinger look the dogs danglies :D
As said berore, primary things to do will be stand/relay, maybe wire mod.
Then some cans (thought about Beowulf's Oval Stubbies http://beowulf-performance-products.com ... 70&catid=9
But do you need to re-map or something when putting them on?
Later perhaps a shock, indies, tail tidy... and after that I guess I'll come up with something else :)
Bike will be used for everyday commuting as well as touring, hence the scottoiler (my last trip ended with an extra 4k on the clock and by the way things are looking, this year might even be better :)).

I have Beowulf Titanium Ovals on mine, just using it with a K&N kit at the moment. Leave the baffles in and it will run fine like this. (Don't know what the baffles do, cos it's pretty loud with them in).
I have bought a Rene chip to try in mine, but not got around to fitting it yet.
You will also need to make sure it's fully de-restricted including ECU wire snip, (see techi posts), but mine runs perfect with this set up and it gets rid of the 5K flatspot.

Hi again Dyzio,
Re the Beowulf cans, I've got the warriors on mine Think the shape suits the frame better than oval.
Had the baffles out on a track day, they registered 100Db, and the throttle response is a lot better.
I've not got a chip, just a K&N filter and iridium plugs.
A couple of mates complained about the noise when following me .
