What a sad, sad day
I've been a PF fan since 1965 and have most of the albums they have made. Through the years they had their problems, Roger Waters? David Gilmour?
Nothing matters now.
Richard was absolutely brilliant when he appeared at the Royal Albert Hall with David Gilmour for the "On an Island" show in 2007 and looked happy and well.
I couldn't get to the show but recorded it and I've almost worn the video out. If you have not seen it, try to.
It will be on again shortly for me!
As I said, a very sad day, my condolences to his family.
Pete put it so well -
Wish you were here.

Our internet at work was down yesterday so heard nothing about it, didn't watch the news either so knew nothing until I read Paddy's post late last night, so my comments then were just my iinitial feelings.
I have been a fan for more than 40 years and still regularly play their stuff and newer albums like "On an Island" by David Gilmour, strange how you never grow out of some musical tastes, (It was the same with the Eagles and also Steve Winwood).
My original site signature on this site, "Take a Ride on the Dark Side", was never just about riding a Black Falco, (as many will have guessed), it was always a tribute to Floyd and one of the best albums ever made.
Richard as the founder member of Pink Floyd will be sadly missed.
Shine on mate wherever you are, you were a great artist, who brought much pleasure to millions of people over many years, we really do Wish You Were Here.
