Wanted: US sidestand for Falco

#1 Post by finn » Mon Sep 08, 2008 4:36 pm

Or any other sidestand which fits without fiddeling, or a link to where to buy would be greatly appreciated. My nerves can't take the stock anymore.

Guys, I don't know anything about US sidestands but there was a bloke on ebay selling his own design stands for the Falco. None on there at the moment but keep an eye out. I think someone on here uses one and is happy.

There really isn't much work involved in fitting a Honda VTR1000 Firestorm stand and they ought to be cheap enough on Ebay.

There have been endless discussions on this and the AF1 sites about this so I suggest searching. Don't forget the Ridersite Archive.

I bought a US-spec stand and fitted it about a year ago... its fantastic but does need some work. You either need to cut the stand's third mounting point off or grind the frame a bit. I decided to take full advantage of the stand and attacked my frame with an angle-grinder. It worked out very well after some priming and painting and it looks like it came from the factory that way.

I bought mine from AF1.. The HQ of the company I work for is in Texas (as is AF1), so I only paid the $8.95 postage fee. If you are interested I can see if there is anyone travelling here soon and they might be able to bring back a stand for you if you get it delivered to our office there.

Would this one do the job?

Thanks Syltiz, but i have free shipping from US as long its not too heavy or big volume, so no need from my side.

Ok... this one then? but if this one is a US should there not have been a third mounting hole?

Hmm... looks different to mine so you'd be taking a bit of a punt there. Mine was from a standard VTR as opposed to the SP1 or 2.
