Wot I did on my holidays

#1 Post by Nooj » Mon Aug 11, 2008 9:08 pm

I went to the Bulldog Bash again, Europe's biggest biker party organised by those nice guys the Hell's Angels. Didn't see anyone I knew, or recognise any bikes.

I did see tents though:

And rain:

And mud:

LOTS of mud:

And beer:

Not as much beer as some people saw though:

And I saw my mate getting his Z1000 dyno'd, 81bhp it topped out at. We were all surprised it stayed in tact, it didn't actually break down until we got half way home :smt011

There were more bikes of course, all shapes and sizes, chromed barges, rats, streetfighters, stock bikes, trikes, all covered in shit. The place turned into mudbath.

And there were the bands. Neville from The Specials did the best show I reckon, Hells Bells (AC/DC tribute band) were good, but only on for half an hour and the Fun Lovin Criminals had really bad sound but were otherwise quite entertaining. Also the drag strip was operational when it eventually dried out between showers, but the camera suffered a schizoid embolism and stopped working so there's no pictures worth putting up of anything else :(

It wasn't as good as last year but that was the 21st one so they'd pulled out all the stops. It was still good though in a wet muddy kind of way, having bands on the Thursday night helped get things under way, but the weather was shit.

I only went once (the year Eddie Kidd beat himself up :smt009 ). Bloody brilliant, would have gone more often, but wife and kids put paid to that.

There were quite a few families wandering around this year with little kids, getting them used to the lifestyle and ready for two wheels :smt003
Eddie Kidd was also there again, took all his concentration to sign a poster for someone, poor bloke.

Didnt Eddie Kidd's career end doing a stunt at the Bulldog in the 90's?
