#1 Post by D-Rider » Thu Jul 31, 2008 12:56 pm

For those that don't venture out of Falco-land .... here's your chance to be brave and find out how you can give your views on an EU research project into rider safety and assistance systems.

Completed but didn't consider any of their options were essentials. :smt017

Same here .... and I may have to develop some of these things once the research is done and the politicians have decided what we're going to have.
Although nothing essential there are a few things that could be relatively useful in certain circumstances.

TBH I think corner adaptive headlight or whatever they call it may be considered essential. ATM you simply cannot ride fast in the dark, unless you keep on using brighties, and that's not sufficient. If they make it right...I'd pay a lot of money for it.

Hmm. I think corner adaptive headlights would be a neat trick and worth having, but not an essential. IMHO if something was an essential on a motorbike it would have been invented by now.

I can imagine that it would be quite a difficult technical challenge to overcome (especially on a bike), which is probably why it hasn't been done yet.

Naah, easy peasy. I was thinking about doing it myself. All I'm missing is some sort of tilt-o-meter. You turn left, over the certain lean degree the left high beam comes on. Dead easy, simplified obviously because of no dedicated hardware on our bikes. But it shows how easy it would be to implement it in a design stage of production. Estimated cost for a manufacturer: 10 quid. :) That's why I out it as essential. Political reasons.

I find that BM's are very good at night, because the Paralever/Duolever front suspension doesn't dive......
and that's half the battle, isn't it ?

Oops. I thought you said tit-o-meter for a sec then. Ahem

Point taken. I hadn't thought of that, prolly because I haven't got a Falco. Yet. :smt120
