I`ve got one of those from hids uk. Its spare at the moment you can have it for £50 if you want it. I`m not sure what fitting it is as its off a mille but I can photograph it if you are interested. Thats bulb complete with ballast ignitor, plug and play and its 6k power bluish white, you don`t get people pulling out with that thing powered up !!

Same link Nooj! You want one of THESE HID kits. I know I certainly do. A lot of the guys on the Fazer forum have fitted them and they are very pleased with the results.
TN, I went for the 6000K bulb. It has a very slight blueish tinge (but not your boy racer Saxo Blue)
The ride is the reason ........ the destination is just the excuse.

I'd be interested in your spare kit, John. Provided it'll fit the Falco, though I see no reason why it shouldn't.

To balance things up a bit, I would certainly agree with TwinNut, that the HIDS4U kit looks pretty good value at this price, and will certainly consider doing the mod on the dip beam, as this is the one I tend to use in daylight. Anything that helps wake car drivers up to bikes is good news. On the contrary paying £600 - £700 pounds to convert all three over with one of the more expensive kits is not something for me. If I did a helluva lot of night riding I might consider it, as it' sometimes a complete pain in the arse having all that performance of the bike but not being able to see where you're going at night. Still unless you buy a beemer it still don't change the heavy breaking/no lights scenario when you brake hard for a sudden nasty corner at night, just get dazzling bright tarmac a few feet in front of the bike!

tn i find the falco's headlights excellent and it's not very often i ride at night.thats why i don't see the point.(just my view if allowed)TwinNut wrote:Fast, I just love your positive mental attitude (and your attention to grammarfastasfcuk wrote:how much, can't see the point.you've either got to much money or your bored.).......you can't see the point of being seen earlier by blind and oblivious drivers or having a much greater spread of light, and thus vision, at night? Yeah, they sound like utterly ridiculous reasons to install a better headlight, i must be f****n stupid..........although to be fair I've run out of mods as there is little else to do on the bike but I 'aint got too much money, although it'd be a nice problem to have.
Having ridden a number of bikes in the dark I can say that the Falco headlight is average at best. You want to try the new Tuono, VFR or post '02 Fazer for good illumination, they're as good as a car, and TBH why should we settle for anything less, it's not like it's hard enough out there for us.

If you want to improve the lighting but don't want to fork out on an HID, just do the dip beam mod to put all three lights on at once (on main beam, obviously). I did this before going HiD and it gives a dramatic improvement. Never had any problems with the electrics either 'cos the main beams are never on for very long.
The ride is the reason ........ the destination is just the excuse.
Seeing as the HID set up draws less current than a normal bulb, I'd be more inclined to do that mod with an HID kit fitted. What's involved, does it require a major re-wire anywhere? I asume it's just tinkering with the switch on the bars is it?

Yep, it's pretty easy. It's just undo the handlebar switch and move a wire from one contact to another - and I know you're pretty handy with a soldering iron
I posted the mod up on the AF1 site before HERE (post #13)

Nice one, geezer! Should be a ten minute job. In your gif it looks like you have the main beams partially illuminated as well, would it be the thing Hansie has, or was it a DIY job with a couple of resistors?
