TT 2008

#1 Post by Falco9 » Wed Jun 04, 2008 8:07 am

Well just back from my annual visit to the IOM TT races

I'm pleased to report a huge increase in the number of Tuono's spotted. But a big drop in the number of RSV's and most dissapointing of all; hardly any Falco's!

Seriously I only saw 4 Falco's in 5 days including a very different Black one with what appeared to be pieces of the Italian flag painted on it. I have to say although it was a fleeting glimpse it looked like a std paint job, but it was a UK reg so.........

Anyway, didn't get a chance to see Trev this year (islefalco) but it was a great trip with great weather (apart from Mad Sunday) great bikes & racing and great beer of course.

The number of speed cameras hit a new high this year with no less than 9 speed cameras on the first 13 miles of the course reported. Fines were heavy and many riders recieved bans (including one of our group, 70 in a 30 = 1 week ban & £350 fine. but he was the first to admit he'd been a bloody idiot) they even caught the local window cleaner in his van on the hill coming down from Brandish at 80 in a 40, so it wasn't just the bikes that got done. He wasn't happy I can tell you! :smt011

I got a 156mph now recorded on the v max over the mountain which was nice and managed to pass a reasonably well ridden Blade on the outside at Windy corner which apparenty got the watching crowd going a bit. :smt003 :smt003

Guy Martin broke down down right in front of us on Monday (another happy camper NOT!!), What a superb bloke he is though, very professional, even though I'm sure he just wanted to kick the c**p out of his Honda. (electric's went west he said)

So all in all another superb visit. For those who haven't been yet (and can) pleaseeeeeeeeeee make the effort. You won't regret it

Was it TT time again already?

Where's the last year gone?
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.
