We now seem to have a sick money-cow epidemic.

A North Wales Police spokeswoman said: “North Wales Police in consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service have decided to discontinue speeding offence cases which were due to be heard at Dolgellau Magistrates Court on 10 June. “The cases involved the use of speed detection equipment carried on board of the force helicopter. “The decision to discontinue proceedings is based purely on administrative matters that were identified that were not completed satisfactorily.

"Kent Police is investigating the way in which speed camera equipment was used on a particular occasion. We cannot go into detail until enquiries have been completed… It is a procedural issue that relates to the use of the equipment… We have discontinued 120 cases as a precaution while we investigate.”

Three officers will face a disciplinary hearing after more than 500 motorists were wrongly convicted of speeding, the police watchdog announced.
An investigation found that a number of speed cameras in Lancashire were not calibrated properly which meant they recorded the incorrect speed as drivers passed by.
