a mille clip on? / post crash repair update

#1 Post by k1w1boy » Wed Apr 30, 2008 7:10 pm

... will no doubt find an answer to this Q as soon as I do a thread search, but stuff it - I've started so I'll finish :smt016 : do mille handle bars fit Falco forks?

On the post Welsh-whoopsydaisy repair front, I picked up a whole hanger and master cylinder for 27squid all up, and got a rear brake calliper bracket thingy for 17squid - new one was 40-something so pretty happy. Will get this all chucked on with a new rear tyre, and poss new chain and sprockets (while the rear wheel's off and all that) this weekend. Took the bellypan off, and with the indicators replaced the thing isn't looking too bad really. Have gotten used to the bent front fairing frame so dunno if I can be bothered sorting that in a hurry. May never go back to the bellypan so those of you who fancy a cheap one and aren't averse to patching up fibreglass should watch this space.

Not as far as I'm aware. think the Mille fork's are thinner than the falco ones at the top. Also the Falco Bars have more rise in them than the RSV ones.

Note this is all from reading other posts rather than personal knowledge, but since nobody else has posted this should at least get them started.

If I remember correctly - clipons from ohlins shod Mille's do not fit, however from non-ohlins Mille's they do fit.

Ohlins forks need 51mm diameter clamps & bars
Showa & Marzocchi need 53mm diameter clamps & bars

Simple thing to do is measure the diameter of your forks and check that they are 53mm.

Yep - that's my understanding too. :smt023
