Buying a car from ireland

#1 Post by Pierre » Wed Mar 26, 2008 10:42 pm

Anyone done this? Bidding for a car on ebay near belfast and think I dont need to do anything apart from send the V5 to the uk address? How do the ferry people know that I'm not just stealing a car and driving it out?

I've checked travel arrangements and its not too bad. £57 from newcastle to belfast at 9am, exchange body organs for car, 8hr ferry journey to liverpool at 10pm at night , £220.

2 days to go and im highest bidder , wheres the 'omgomgomgomgomgomiwantthiscaromgomgomg' smiley :smt007 :smt118 :smt119

What you buying?

A lad I know on a vauxhall forum bought a car over there a couple of years ago. As far as I am aware he just did the usual as its part of the UK so technically the reg docs transfer over. He's still got it on irish plates too so look at it as a cheap private reg!

I could be totally wrong like. Good luck!

Ahhh a Jag, wonder how long before the parts are made in some Indian sweat shop.

Maybe they should pay you to take it away :smt005
