Has any one here got a Vauxhall Astra?

If so, what do you think of it?

I had a 57 plate Astra 1.8 cabriolet delivered this morning which is a loan car until my new car is ready for delivery, which is going to be about 4 weeks.

I have to say, that it is possibly one of the most horrible cars it has ever been my misfortune to own.

The driving position is horrible, there is limited adjustment on the drivers seat, I can't get the steering wheel positioned right, rearwards visibility is terrible and the ride is bone jarring.

On the plus side, I like the keyless ignition, the electric folding roof may be a bit of fun if we get some decent weather, but that is about it!

Who in their right mind would buy such a vehicle with their own cash?

Roll on 4 weeks time! :smt003

:smt001 Luckily our civvi fleet tend to be Hondas now, but there was a time when we too were plagued with having to endure Vauxhall's finest..
I dont like them to be honest.

The wife had Astras till a couple of years back. I never altered her settings so the driving position was tolerated on the occasions I drove it.
The last one was a terrible let down after the previous ones and that was mainly down to the ghastly 'green' tyres they started fitting.
Terrible ride and deafening.
The engines were always loosening up nicely just as she traded em in too.

Well a cabriolet is a hairdressers car (for the sake of not upseting the women on this forum I will not say it is a tarts car :smt002 )
