Im sure that makes you the youngest Falco owner?back_marker wrote:I thought that was pretty good for a 28 year old with 3 years no claims. I will however be shopping around prior to renewing.
Just got my insurance renewal through

Insurance Costs
Probably a little late on this one..
but as i'm looking for a falco in the new year, i phoned around first i tried the official "prilla" insurance at Lexham got a quote of £170 odd, then i treid the people i have my car and previous bike's with The policy shop and got a quote of £149 tpft for a 2004 falco, excellent i'm well pleased with that quote.
bearing in mind my old '94' 750 trackie/roadbike was costing £85 tpft, i feel that £149 for a 1000cc 2004 falco is a bit of a bargain.
*edit*
Forgot to mention i'm 46 with 5 years ncd on the bike, having binned my R6 in 2000-1 and made a claim (stupidly)

I'll do slow when I'm dead

Well I'm at just over the £400 mark now, but that's for 6 bikes fully comp with £200 excess on each.
Tht's with CN (gave up on Bennetts as they took for ever to sort out a multi-bike policy & European cover is a LOT extra !
The Falco has been the most onerous to insure though, as they've insisted on a Thatcham cat 1 alarm/immobiliser

That was an additional £30 for living in a 'worse' area (even though it's 20 times nicer here) on top of the usual administration rip-off.

Where are you based now?Nooj wrote:That was an additional £30 for living in a 'worse' area (even though it's 20 times nicer here) on top of the usual administration rip-off.
Mine seems to be mcuh cheaper than when I lived in Reading, but probably something to with what I was reading the other day that puts Salisbury as (i think) the 4th best place in the country as far as bike thefts are concerned (only beaten by places like the outer Hebrides and the like)

I've moved from Andover to Newbury. It's possible that there is more crime in Newbury, but only because it's a bit bigger than Andover, although I'd be surprised if this is the case as Andover is a total shithole of a place. Possibly Thatcham is distorting the figures, there always seems to be something nasty going on there, but that's still a good two miles from me across town.
