Feckin' Insurance
Pick my Falco up tomorrow.
Had a shock with Carole Nash though.........I thought it would be the usual doddle to add another bike to my multi-bike policy
But not with this one !........although it's a lower group than me BM, I can't insure it fully comp until I've put a Thatcham 1 alarm/immobiliser on it FFS!
Anyone know how much they are ????.........the additional insurance is only £62, but I suspect I'm gonna pay big style for the alarm/immobiliser !
Also any recommendations ??

The Meta Alarms seem to be less troublesome than the Datatools ... at least from the various posts that come up on the forum.
Most alarms you have to have fitted by an approved installer (fortunately I got my Meta via ebay with the wires marked up by the previous owner - it's been fine)

Thanks for the link
I'll have to find out who can install one for me ASAP, as the bike will only be insured 3rd party until I tell CN it's fitted.
Can't understand it - it will be in a locked & alarmed brick garage, attached to my house, same as 5 other bikes insured by them, only one of which is alarmed/immobilised !

I've had no trouble with the Datatool alarm I've got, plus it came as part of a good package from Carole Nash - be worth asking them.
I got the alarm, Datatag upgrade (matches the alarm), Oxford lock & chain, and Oxford ground anchor for less than the alarm would have cost on it's own. Fully fitted at your home.
And no, I'm not on commission

I wonder why the person I spoke to about my insurance at CN didn't mention that ?Firestarter wrote:I've had no trouble with the Datatool alarm I've got, plus it came as part of a good package from Carole Nash - be worth asking them.

I think I'll give 'em another call today & get price
Plus I'll get a quote from Grantham Honda - they're my nearest approved installer.

{note for Sidestand: Someone "Borrowed" Gios Beemer - 'twas his prized possession .... strange how people can get attached to tractors .... anyway , it all ended happily as Gio replaced it with a Falco .... well, I said happily ... that was until Gio fell off and (supposedly) gave up riding motorbikes}
