There are two or three reasons why we have Falcos :-
1. They're a bloody great all round bike for long or short runs on real roads.
2. They are a bit unusual, you don't see many around and so always get attention. :smt002
3. You can't get anything else any where near as good for the money.

If £4K is your budget, what sort of CBR1000RR, VFR or RSV can you get for that price?
Your choice mate, but I'd stick with the Falco at this sort of money. :smt004 :smt004

If somebody gave me £20k to spend on bikes it would be different. I'd buy a Falco, (or just spend even more on the one I have :smt007 :smt007 ), then think what I could get to go with it. Probably get a couple of others to share the garage, might consider a ZZR1400 and Speed Triple.

P.S. Sorry mate nearly forgot :smt062 :smt062 :smt062 :smt062

Oh, you mean that rather fetching shade of metallic sewage.

There is always something tempting out there.

It just depends what you want to spend your money on and what you need a bike for.

I don't think there is anything that can be much better than a Falco if you want a motorcycle for what motorcycles are designed for. I can understand getting something different if you are doing a lot of commuting miles or two up euro touring.

If you want a sporting ride on UK roads then some ones going to have to go balistically illegal to leave a well set up and ridden Falco behind.

I quite fancy a Guzzi Grisso at just over 7K, it looks well made and very macho. I doubt it does anything other than cruise the high street better than a Falco but some times functionality isn’t everything. However I'm not fickle and the Falco's going to have to get pretty sick before I'll be swapping it. Now for “just” 2K I could get BST wheels and rediscover new depths in the old flame.

Just dreaming………….roll on spring time and I’ll be content discovering some new roads on the old faithful.
Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can enjoy today

You may want to try Motor Cycle Centre Orrell (Wigan area) 01942 218181 last time i went in they had a bronze Falco with very low mileage for around £4500 This time of year you may get a better deal.
It looked spot on and all standard.
I bought my Falco new from there last May and payed about £5k plus on the road they may even have a new one knocking about. Good Luck.
No shit sherlock

during the summer, aprilia uk stated that there were two places left with brand new falcos - one was definitly in wigan

I think they said there were 5 bikes in total still up for grabs

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I guess it depends on what you want to do with it, if long distance is your thing i wouldn't get the cbr1000 Blade, having had one, it's an awesome, awesome bike, but not if you want to go any distance on it, i went to the south of france on mine in 2005 with a couple of mates on R1's and it nearly crippled me, neither of them suffered like i did with comfort issues.

I put some helibars on it which were much better, plus you can hoon on it, I find the stock bar position is a bit wierd it sort of twists your wrists at an odd angle, at least it did mine , but then i've had a busted wrist, which probably doesn't help any !!

Have a look at my site here bottom of page, theres a bit more info http://www.honda-fireblades.co.uk/produ ... ews_4.html

Can't really comment on your other choices as I've not treid them, but the main reason i'm now looking for a falco is comfort, with general hoonability, if you already have that why look elsewhere :smt002
