University

My Daughter has just started uni.
We (my wife) and myself took her to bristol last thursday,"her" name is laura and she is 18yrs old but i'm missing her like crazy already.
Just wondered if anyone else has got young offspring gone to uni and any info on the saying time is a healer etc. etc

Our youngest son went to uni at 18, he's 24 now and apart from 18 months at home when he finished he's lived on his own all that time.

You'll get used to it, TBO you've no option.

BTW do any of her friends go to Bristol as well?

Yes she has 2 friends at Bristol so she is probably in her element.
But she 's good at making friends anyway.

So parents are probably not priority at the mo till she needs some dosh or something.

When I left my eldest girl on the campus 2 years ago, my heart was in my boots, I could see her standing there watching me drive away!! It wasn't so bad because it was only an hours drive away, she could drive and I bought her a little car and insured it for her............ no problem, it was ok!!

She flew to France 'alone' today to do her year there................NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

As an aside my youngest is at art college, she's going to be there at least 2 years and then she wants to study under a master if she gets the grades. in those terms she's already slipping away from us, yet even though I'm a bit sad, I'm excited for her.

My youngest just announced that she and her bloke are buying a van to live in and setting off to the alps for the snowboarding then working thier way thru France to Portugal for kiteboarding. They expect to be gone 6 or 12 months, maybe 2 years. I'm excited for her but devastated too - my baby is only 30!
