OK - Complete logistical bog-up!

Not sure exactly who made it .... I know I did and so did Woodbutcher (we rode up together). It was good to meet you, Bob.

I forgot to take Davshill's number with me - thought it was in my phone but doesn't seem to be - if you made it Dave, hope you had a good time.

Made intermittent phone/text contact with Aladinsaneuk and Paddy but the phones were working so badly that we never met up ... although I think Aladinsaneuk and Paddy did meet.

As for anyone else - I have no idea!

Next time we do something like this we need to agree a meeting place that is a bit more precise than "Cadwell Park"

Anyway, the racing was good - although none of the places that Bob and I watched from let you see that much of the track. Tat being said, it's quite an interesting circuit.

Saw several "unknown" Falcos there - got talking to the owner of one - he's thinking of changing to something else as he "wants a change" but is concerned that he'll regret letting the Falco go. Told him about the forum. Told him he'd regret selling the Falco!

Also parked next to an RSV rider and got into a discussion about sidestands .... mentioned that the various mods have been posted up on the forum .... maybe he'll visit ..... :smt001


I can confirm the Falco is a bird of prey - mine swooped on an unsuspecting pigeon on the way up there - and seemed to explode it. Falco sustained a minor crack to the mudguard.

Perhaps the person on This Thread will stump up the money to get the pigeon reassembled!

Missed you guys yesterday. Got into the circuit just as the karting demo started, having left my mobile phone at home :smt013 . Couldn't see any familiar faces around the mountain.

Had a really good day, the karting and the World War II plane dog fight were great. Saw one other falco - a really nice red job, very shiny with PB stickers on the fairing, parked on the right of the approach road into the gates.

Sorry we missed you but hope you had a good day.

Good to meet you to Andy you dont get to see many pigeons explode like that i think you can safely say it was killed outright

The shiny red un' with PB sticker was mine :smt003 I was there with a mate on a brand new R1 and another on a battle scarred R6. Brilliant day out and then I went back the next day and did the novice track evening, there was another red one there too! I thought I would be ok on a 105dB noise limit day but not so when they tested mine with CCC cans at 115dB :smt019 but luckily I had got the missus to come along and bring the standard cans (which passed ok). Cadwell comes very highly recommended but if you are a fairly handy rider I would go in the intermediate group as I kept getting held up in the corners by 'straight line hero's'! got some nice rubber bobbles on the rear mich pilot road 2CT's too.
If you don't like it, don't look!

Watched the races on TV today and I recollect some one saying that Cadwell was an easy track for track days etc.

I allways felt it one of the most difficult of the UK short circuits and given that I've been near vertical on a Velocette over the moutain, think that maybe this section isgetting to the point where it is not 'Super Bike' compatible. Camier & Burn's crashes looked horrible and the rider's didn't look like they had much of a chance, nor did it look like they had taken it much differently from the times before.

I didn't record it so can't do a slow motion replay. Possibly they were going across the track a little from middle right to the left. They got plenty of air and when landing on the back wheel it just spat them off. Maybe the wheel was turing a little slow on touch down, I don't know but it looked like it was a bit of a lottery as to who was going to get spat off next.

Gutted I missed it on TV. Had been looking forward to it, too. (racing not crashes)

I reckon yer right though. Firing that BHP in that sort of bike, up that sort of hill isnt big or clever.

Good for the crowds though, I guess!
