Falco Subbuteo

#1 Post by D-Rider » Tue Aug 21, 2007 10:27 am

I remember that some years ago, MCN used to run a Spot the Ball competition for football played on motorbikes. If you don't know what I'm on about, here's some video of the sport:

Short Clip
10min documentary

I guess it was only a matter of time until this exciting sport was converted into that popular table-top format - with the Falco being the obvious choice for those wishing to develop this Hobby.

Falco Subbuteo - Hobby

Interesting that the article also notes the Falco's long distance abilities and its diet of insects (that we can all relate to after a quick evening blast)

Andy ,

Once again I find your lack of engagement with things swingarm related dissapointing.

Now if the missus was to catch you dredging up this drivel instead of wallpapering or varnishing the cat you'd be in big trouble. :smt005

You can tell I'm clutching at straws to keep this forum active while everyone is away on their hols ..... at least I'm assuming they're on their hols ... could be they're just keeping away to avoid my drivel ........................

:smt017

... now try to convince me that when you clicked on the link you didn't expect to see a green cloth with little Aprilia models on it all lined up for a game of footee ......

Sorry I've not posted much this weekend Andy, was outside with my binoculars looking for small falcons to play subbuteo with.
Didn't see any Hobbies but then again like you, my Falco seems to catch all the flies so they probably starved to death. :smt005
Don't worry I'm off on holiday again in just over a month. :smt001

The other good thing is when I get back the summer will be over and we might get some decent biking weather again! :smt003

Apparently the chap who invented Subbuteo was a keen birdwatcher and his favourite bird was the Hobby and so that's how it ended up with such a daft name. No really........

Andy ,

Once again I find your lack of engagement with the normal world barely surprising. I think I need to go away again. :smt003
