Fuel leak
I will cross post this to other places as well - I think i may need a few pointers
took the bike out for a blast on tuesday - nothing special, just 100 mile thrash around
Parked the bike in the shed, and went back to it today, thursday.
Opened up the shed and could smell petrol....
I saw a small pool of fluid - petrol around the side stand. Moved the bike out on to the drive and popped it on the side stand - started the bike and noted that there was more fuel coming out than previously.
hmmm - bugger I thought
went for a quick blast - ie to get more fuel - I notoiced that there was a minimal or no leak when the bike was bolt up right - but as soon as it went on the side stand - more leak - and definitly worse with the engine running
so - any thoughts before i start stripping things down?
(Am hoping it is just a loose hose but... I doubt it some how!)

Check the quick release coupling on the return line 1st you should be able to see it on the left side between the tank and the frame rails. Push the button in and pull apart then reconnect and try for leaks.
Then it's look for the dodgy joint/split hose.
I've heard of badly seated fuel pumps causing a leak, but I would have thought it unlikely to make any difference between engine running and not as the tank doesn't get pressurised.
Good Luck

well - is warped :(
reason why it was worse with engine running - vibration I assume
I am not sure of next option, but I fear it may result in a new tank....
I will probably try to get it fixed, but not really sure how (as in what is capable by me.... I know my limits!)
Am almost tempted to fix the pump in place permanently while I look for a second hand tank and pump.....
Doesn't anyone make a silicone style gasket that doesn't get eaten by petrol???

Pete - did you see the first of my links over on AF1 - Taqman has exactly this problem and made a fix for it. Sure, if you can get a cheap tank it may be the easiest solution (but not if it's Yellow of course) - but it may be hard to come by. I'd read up on that repair.
Is the problem worse as soon as the engine runs - if not it could be due to the heat these engines give off causing the distortion to vary with temperature.
