Advice Please !!!
I have an 18 year old son who is Arsenal Mad !!...he has been since he was a wee lad, he is now a big lad and is desperate to get down there and see the new stadium. Anyway...he says there is tickets for sale for some friendly or pre season matches on 28th and 29th July. He is so keen to get there he says he will fly down and back and go himself if he has to !!. He is very confident and have no doubt he would cope if i can organise it for him. But...i have no clue where the stadium is ...even though we were there with him 3 years ago !!. So...if im arranging this, where is the best airport for him to fly into..and once there how would he best make his way to the stadium and where would closest easiest place to stay be..ie a travel lodge ect. Do they supply transport from the airports to nearest tube station, coz he would find his way there once he got the the tube station. Also....will he be ok wandering around something like that on his own ?????? Im trying to get him to get a pal to go with him or maybe even his girlfriend, although she isnt a footy fan id rather he wasnt down there alone....what do you lot think???
He reckons once he is there he can just buy a day train ticket and skoot about wherever he wants, is that the case ??

that tells you how to find the ground etc
for friendlies like that, there would be no real chance of any unsavory characters being about
as for flying..... well, gatwick and heathrow are a pain to get to and from - I would suggest stanstead

You don't say where he's flying from or how much you want to pay.
EasyJet to Luton, then GreenLine bus to central London? My daughter did something like that last year: cheap & easy.
Once in London he wants an Oyster card for 'unlimited' tube/bus travel... but I'm sure there's someone round here who knows more about it than me...

Aud,
The Oyster card is the way to go for sure. Luton too get the train right into central London.
There is the part of one of the London Universities just next to the stadium, if it has halls they might be available.
I'm on leave this week, but I'll try to give it some time when I'm back at work and get back to you.
