Is anyone still watching MotoGP these days?

#1 Post by Viking » Mon Oct 21, 2024 7:05 am

'Lo all,

I had to head down towards Philip Island last weekend, and was surprised to see all the bikes on the road. Took me a while to work out it was the Aus MotoGP.

Which then make me realise that I haven't watched a MotoGP race (even on TV) in a very long time - not since the Stoner / Rossi days.

Anyone else in the same boat of apathy about the racing?

V.
It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

I've not watched for a couple of years, lost interest (plus I could only get highlights when available). I got TNT Sports this year, so I've been trying to make use of it and MotoGP is one of the few sports that I've actually go an interest in

It doesn't help that MotoGP doesn't get media coverage here in Oz, and I have no desire to pay some streaming company for the privilege of a watching for a couple of hours a month.

I also watch the rugby through there, but I wouldn't pay either just for MotoGP - I get it free with my mobile phone contract otherwise I'd blissfully carry on not watching

i use a VPN to connect to a server in Austria, then watch Servus TV's free to air MotoGP and WSBK offerings. Works pretty well...
