Here's the outcome in glorious 3D CT ...

The surgeon looked at this then told me "You have a very very serious injury to your foot..."

I don't know much but have been looking in the webatronic gargle motor and had seen some stuff about foot injuries and had seen some CTs of similar. The bones should all just about line up - mine as you can see are significantly shunted to the outside of the foot.

My treatment - when the swelling has subsided sufficiently in about 10 days - will involve a total plating/fusion of all the bones in my mid-foot.

Great.

I'd get another assessment 1st, you most definitely don't want the mid foot fused, it really will cause you problems in later life. Have they seen if your ligaments have separated and if they have what about reattachment, from what I've heard when the ligaments separate and they reattach them they wire them to the bones after 6 to 8 weeks in plaster they then re-open and remove the wires, this is something that might be done with my wrist.

Good luck anyway.
I hate it when people ask if you have a bathroom, I want to say "No we pee in the garden"
