rookie mistake, I have no doubt that Jay has told you what to look for, what to avoid ect.
If I'm bidding on something I really want then I think about the top price I would pay, if it's really nice then I up the odds a bit and increase the max bid, that way you seperate yourself from bargain hunter to serious buyer.
I have won some good stuff beating other max bids by a few pounds and well below my own upper limit.
good luck with the next one !
Have you looked at Skye's post re low mileage Falc for sale ?
He doesn't want a mercury Grey?
He has set his heart on a flaming red.

Tolerance will be our undoing.

Blinkey's advice as follows, it needs a shock upgrade, under cowl, fairing was scraped needs body work and paint, swiftly followed by, buy it BUY IT BUY IT...
It was up for £2900 my offer was £2700 taking into account the extra cost of the upgrades, saying that it was good nick and only 4000 miles.
Yeah I've seen it it looks mint but I want the black and red, but it is an option as long as Blinkey goes to pick it up for me....
You live and learn I suppose.... Oh wait

The black and red one you refer to is Flamingo red.
Possibly the BEST colour for the falco.
Collection depends on where my Van is going?
I would have to ask my boss if I could do a site survey and swing round the north east for delivery.

Blinkey
I've heard black is the fastest colour, therefore black and flamingo red must be even faster......
Don't worry about your boss I outrank him

I have the late red zorro version , I had to travel from north Scotland to way down south but it's colour scheme with the black frame , extremely low miles
Sl cans ect ect made it worth it
I have been tempted to sell due to the race position and my age however what can you get that's as good for the money it's worth ?
I will add the zorro version was destined for the states and may still have the wrong headlight as mine still does , but as it's only a summer toy it's never bothered me

Got mine from this site it only had 4K at the time and mint apart from scratched tank when it fell over on its original stand
It's still near mint but now around 9k tbh I don't mind the tank as when a bike has a mark another don't matter but when it gets it's first mark it's devastating
Best part of the falco is it's engine and sound I had a Ducati s4rs before this and the falco I find to be a better bike
If you pm me a e mail I send photo as I don't think I can post one on here

Did someone.mention aftermarket parts?

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock
