Wey Hey Ebay !

#1 Post by D-Rider » Mon Jun 04, 2007 10:33 pm

Having lusted for more than a year after one of those megga-bling MPL clutch slaves on ebay, I eventually won one at a price I was prepared to pay (well actually, I was out tonight but my son won it on my instructions).

£40 well spent (I hope).

Wait long enough and ebay usually delivers!

Ebay can be great, but sometimes stuff can go for ridiculous money!!

I picked up a Falco pillion seatpad the other week for £40, well pleased with that. Not holding out much hope of finding fighter footpegs though so will probably have to bite the bullet and get them from Aprilia.

I'm also keeping an eye out for a yellow spring shock and linkeage at the right price... :smt002

Also, can't believe a set of the Falco soft bags and rack went for 155 squid the other day!! I don't think they'll fit on mine what with the cans I have, but keeping an eye out for luggage nonetheless in case some tasty normal cans pop up :smt001

Most of my experiences have been very good.
Bought the Falco itself for £3k with 6k miles and FSH, 3 years ago, when they were generally going for at least £4k private.
Also got a pillion seat hump (as new) in black for £50, (other colours like red always seem to go cheaper), but Aprilia want nearer £150 so not bad.
White spring shock as new for £38. (Well happy).
Also last year, after the off, an almost complete set of body work in black (off a bike that had never been on the road and converted to a Falco Fighter before selling), this also included new standard exhausts, rear can/pillion hangers, both clip ons, all indicators, (including a standard rear numberplate!!!), dozens of stainless fairing bolts, std. screen and all sorts of other stuff for £520 odd. Did not need all this but saved my life as the panels/bits I needed would have cost at least £2800 from Aprilia.
Bought numerous other bits over the years and never been really stung.
My only bad experience was 3 years ago, when I bought a Fazer 1000 outside ebay, as I was highest bidder but below reserve. Agreed a price with the seller, got insurance sorted and was going to pick it up the next weekend, then got an email saying that he had had a better offer and sold it locally. I was gutted. :smt013 :smt010
I found the Falco on ebay 2 days later and bought it, and have never recovered from the terrible set back of missing out on the Fazer !! :smt002 :smt002
THANKS Ebay :smt004 :smt004

I've had some good bargains on E-Bay, the best being a brand-new fairing lower including indicator for £20. Should have bought both really at that price.
Anyone any experience of cheap chips from Italy? (no guys not the edible type)
