I'm more than happy not having the internal pipes, they've created their own problems in the past.

My only concerns with the race caps are security and rain getting in.

Any info on those points would be of interest.

OK race fillers can be supplied by almost anyone including Harris who I think have a locking version of the cap. All are sealed like the OEM caps and have a small vent which is on the underside of the cap and high up enough to not cause an issue. They are designed very well if you get a good branded one. Just avoid cheap eBay ones which simply vent via a small hole drilled somewhere in the cap and or fitting. The good ones actually have a one way valve built into them just like the Mocal breathers I usually use.

Well it does seem that regarding the fillers we have no race riots.

All seems good to me to go for race filler caps. One with a design that won't collect water to run in when it's opened seems favourite.
This has been posted up for some time now so any nay-sayers have had plenty of time to object.

I might be wrong but having looked at pictures, I get the impression that they may also make it much easier to fill the tank a bit more full as it looks like the nozzle aperture is a bit higher up than standard. I could be wrong but that would be an added bonus.

I'm not too bothered about security of the fuel. The bike won't look much different to all the other bikes out there that have locking filler caps so I doubt there are many that go round trying to harvest fuel from the few that don't have a lock. Hardly worth it with the limited capacity of a bike tank that is almost never going to be full at a point where it is parked up.
