Why? What has that poor fairing ever done to you? Surely it would be better to get a cheap (already damaged) fairing to carve up and leave your pristine one as a spare (or sell it to someone who would appreciate it). There is a vanishing stock of stuff like this...Sixty7 wrote:Marking the fairing up for a little bit of plastic surgery![]()

For me to appreciate it more it needs this done, as for looking for another top fairing to do this, wots the point of buying another to cut that one up I can't understand this...making the bike comfy for myself then I'm going to enjoy it more, unfortunately as people get on in life they need to be more comfy on their bikes hence the cconversion. It's not like I'm streetfightering it.....get a grip people

Nobody's against you modding the bike to make it suit you better (we positively encourage it) .... we're just getting very jumpy about the dwindling stocks of affordable good spare parts - plastics in particular.mangocrazy wrote: Surely it would be better to get a cheap (already damaged) fairing to carve up and leave your pristine one as a spare. The best way of doing this is to try and get someone like zero limits to start making carbon fibre replacements they do replacement panels for most bikes and are cheaper than new items, also I'm not taking that much off my painter has told me to keep the bits I take off, the thing is even if I put adjustable clipons on I'd still have to trim the fairing in some way, I think aprilia should of put the clipons on top of the yoke like other manufacturers have done and have a slightly less full on fairing as that's the main problem with any bar mod to the falco.

Absolutely - we all have the right to do what we want with our bikes.squadron Nero wrote:Your bike, do as you please.

The issue is that the Falco was never made in great numbers so few will find it worthwhile making parts for them.Sixty7 wrote:The best way of doing this is to try and get someone like zero limits to start making carbon fibre replacements they do replacement panels for most bikes and are cheaper than new items
Richard, who is making our tanks, might be persuaded if demand is high enough but it's not a cheap thing to cover the start up costs of moulds etc.
I really don't think that would have fit in with the ethos of the Falco as a sports bike. Do many sports bikes have their clipons above the top yoke?Sixty7 wrote: I think aprilia should of put the clipons on top of the yoke like other manufacturers have done and have a slightly less full on fairing as that's the main problem with any bar mod to the falco.
Their sports-tourer, the Futura, has that kind of riding position - so they do have that covered in the bike they produced for that purpose.

Tbh I don't know why people chop up bikes, why not change a Falco / Mille for a Futura / Tuono / something else that has the riding position that suits them. Seems less hassle to me.

Because I didn't want a Futura or a Tuono (I've had a Tuono) as for hassle there is none.....as I like to tinker with stuff....squadron Nero wrote:D-Rider wrote:Absolutely - we all have the right to do what we want with our bikes.squadron Nero wrote:Your bike, do as you please.
