clutch bleeding issues?

#1 Post by jeffersonchristopher » Sat Mar 14, 2015 8:00 pm

Me again! With no doubt a notoriously stupid question :smt011
I've just changed the sprag, replaced the slave cylinder, bled the clutch fluid...Now....
When it's up on the abba stand and in first gear the wheel spins, but when I sit on it and try to pull away nothing happens.
Please help!

If it's not engaging and pulling away it's not a bleeding issue. Air in the line would make it difficult to disengage.

What did you replace clutch slave with?
See my reply to Spider wheels.... Buggered clutch.
Could be another clearance/free play issue.

There's definitely no air in the hydraulics.
I took the clutch casing off and the spring bolts, it looks fine inside, I didn't take all the plates out, could they somehow be jammed? The push rod came out smoothly.
I pushed the piston all the way in before fitting it back over the push rod...
When it's said replaced I meant refitted, it's the same one.
There is no free play in the clutch handle, it's quite tight/stiff.

Think that's your problem.
If you can't get any free play on the lever using the span adjustment then you will need to remove the lever and reduce the length of the lever push rod
