Modified c90.

So I stumbled across a page on fb about a month ago which is about chopping and customising Honda c90's?

I didn't realise just how big the modified c90 bike scene was.

So moving away from modifying falco's and happy with what I have done to the storm trooper, I decided to buy another c90 from an 18 year old lad that had used and abused what he described as a nice bike?

When I arrived to look at this "Lovely" bike, his idea's and mine were somewhat different.

The frame is in good condition, and with wanting something for a project a decided to buy the bike at a knock down price.

I like things that are different, and I am planning carefully what I need to make a nice project from the 90.

The market for custom spares for these bikes is massive, Mainly importing a lot of parts from abroad.

There is also a 190cc 4 valve motor that can be bought. It has a "Massive" 28bhp

But from a bike that weighs next to nothing I am planning on fitting this very motor to my custom with a lightened flywheel.

This should make the 90 fly. I was told that somebody fitted this very motor to a Honda chaley which had standard wheels fitted?

Coming off the roundabout, if he opened the throttle too quick it would peel the back tyre off the rim!!!!!.

Anyway......Here are some examples of what people have done.

I think the green and the blue bikes are stunning.

Some of the bling for these bikes is awesome.

I'm not a fan of choppers or most custom bikes but, as fatboy, says, the design and craftsmanship on mamy of them is fantastic, so my brain treats them more like art than bikes. Such a project is bound to yield a great deal of satisfaction and I'm sure Blinky will do it justice and show it off at one of this year's meets.

I don't mean to come across in a negative way but, why? Why would anyone put so much time and effort into one of these bikes. There are much better (matter of opinion I suppose) bikes, much more worthy of the time, effort and expense.

It's like that guy up at the cat and fiddle who supposedly had 28k in his little monkey bike. Some people must have way too much time and money on their hands.

Good luck with your project though Jay, I'll look forward to seeing how it goes.

To be fair I agree with the 28k monkey bike but mainly because some of the cheaper sub 3 k ones were so much nicer...

Why would someone do that to a C90 ?
Because they want to,they can and they did.
Passion is the motive,does not really matter what you ride,ride and own it with passion.
In case you are wondering, no I don't like C90's,would not buy one even if I was being tortured to do so, but as Dusty says, its like art.
Beauty is after all in the eye of the beer holder !

I fancied a C90 when I was riding a C50...............
