Bigger wheels than the ones from my youth certainly. The local Honda dealer has a couple of older but next to no mileage examples in, I'll go and have a nose.BikerGran wrote:Isn't the T-max one of the big wheeled sort?

Cheers,HowardQ wrote:Good point, you could lose a smsll scooter in some of the potholes around here, but may be worthwhile to try a test drive, as some of the super scoots have slightly bigger wheels.
On the bike side, how about one of the SV650 variants, from basic older SV650(S) versions and including the later Gladius and V-Strom 650 etc..
They are all easy, but fun to ride and can be more economical than average.
Good luck with your search.
I have a foot tapping away patiently in the Gladius corner. My ailing kwak is moted until April and I can use the Falco for a bit if needs be. I'm going to wait until after the new reg and see if any good part exes show up.

Looking at the website they're playing the heritage game and pricing to suit. It's a lot of cash for what they are but they look well put together.fatboy wrote:Maybe the V7,s appeal to a certain market.
Some biking commuters prefer economy over performance, some prefer the opposite.
The V7 offerers moderate performance ( suitable for those new restricted licsence things ) so too big for some and not big enough for others.
I would love V7 as a second bike, almost bought the cafe racer but decided the price was a bit too high for the performance.
Think the 'Stone' models look ace
'
The stone ticks a lot of boxes. Easily touched up paint instead of shiny shit, fork gaiters, shaft, single throttle body, abs and traction control. I had a Guzzi for 14 years and it was (electrics aside) incredibly robust and piss easy to service.

I thought it was ideal really, probably a wee bit over budget but it would put a big smile on her face every morning.
I'd probably just got for something like an old Bandit, comfy, reliable, cheap. Or a YZF WR450, put some road tyres on it.

Highly recommend a bandit ... You could even paint your own logo like the word ar3e?
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

I've got this weird hang up about bikes with more than two pots. They don't seem to do so well at finding grip when the roads get crappy. The WR thing sounds suspiciously like it would involve mechanicing.squadron Nero wrote:randomsquid wrote:With the greatest of respect, are you fucking nuts?squadron Nero wrote:http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.vi ... 1820276424
