Hi EEP - you are asking the right people. F9 will give his new besotted view and Nooj can give a thorough back to back test if you give him your criteria. Deb will have a view too no doubt.

I have been told that they would give me around £3k with the bike as standard.

I am looking at possibly changing to a buell, speed triple or tuono.

Goin for a test on the tuono on Sat if the weather is okay.

Any thoughts on any of the above bikes would be appreciated.

I like the Buell, proper bad boys bike.

Pity about the HD motor, although I'm not sure if they suffer the same reliability problems HD's are infamous for.

EEEP, I test rode all three bikes you mention. HD... ehm...Buell is a tractor. Period. It's completely different bike to the rest of the three. Looks uniquely, handles well, v small, than they put an asthmatic lump in there. Brilliant :) You HAVE to test ride it to know what I mean.

S3 is geat, sorted bike. Smooth, powerful, good looking, good handling, crap weather protection, everything you need :D just like Tuono, actually. But Tuono feels madder, bigger, better built too. And uglier :) It was hard to choose.

So I bought Falco for half price of the aforementioned... Gettit? :smt003

My last bike was an 04 Buell Firebolt, the one with the oil in the swing arm fuel in the frame etc, and I loved it. It is by far the best handling bike out there in my opinion and yes, the engine is a wheezer but its still well capable of silly speeds. Its physically small but I'm 5'11 and 14.5 stone and it was real comfy for me. My own bike was a 'friday afternoon' one and suffered from some niggles which is the only thing that pissed me off about it however the post 04 bikes are supposed to be well sorted and reliability is no longer an issue.Go for a test ride on one, I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised

Nooj wrote:Tuono's a crackin' bike, but the Falco is just as much fun and has more day to day practicallity. What changes are you lookikng for?
Practicality.... that'll be the 'boot' I guess but I'm used to not having any room under the seat :smt110 On long rides, my back/arms/knees ache a lot less than on the Falco, and that's with the bar risers. In terms of luggage (tailpack/panniers etc) there's no difference.
Really after something a bit more up right and a wee bit less wind protection so maybe i'll slow down a bit.
I wouldn't bank on it ;) that's what I thought too - hasn't quite turned out that way though :D It does depend on what you think of as a 'normal' speed I guess. I wouldn't want to cruise all day at 100+ but 90 with occasional sprints up into 3 figures is fine and means my licence is probably safe for the time being.
Oh and I like the stylin.
The Falco is beautiful, and I was considering getting one, but then I'd have had needed bar raisers plus all the usual mods and we'd have ended up with 2 almost identical bikes. I fell in love with the T as soon as I rode it and it gets drooled over by anyone in the know whereever I go.

Thanks for the comments Debz you have basically confirmed the thoughts I had, still get the great engine and performance, less pain in the arms and neck and will help to stay in sub sonic speeds :smt002

Falcos are worth dirt as a trade in, one more reason to keep it!
