Putting on raised bars

Very likely, but I made sure I bought an already butchered top fairing, I couldn't bring myself to cut up a good one.

I finally started pulling the front end of the bike last night, only to find that the yoke and risers I have (tuono) take fat bars 1 1/8" in the middle that taper down to 7/8" at the controls. I have renthal normal bars so couldn't fit them.

I'm going to order some new risers 2" instead of 3" as these will be cheaper than a new set of fat bars, plus they'll give me the opportunity to swap the amount of rise if I want to at a later date.

Here's the bike with the chopped fairing fitted (I didn't chop this one so don't blame me), it is cut a bit more that I'd have liked but I would much rather this than cutting up my own perfectly good fairing. These are still the original bars by the way

For some reason my image posting seems to have stopped working :( Admin, when I click the img or url buttons the code doesn't pop up, when I copy and paste the bbcode shown it doesn't preview the image, any help appreciated.

On your dropbox account you need to make sure you are using the 'Share Link' button not just copying an image url....

Here's one I did earlier:

looks like images from DL cant be embedded here so you'll need to paste your image as a link, such as:

It still doesn't work using the img bbcode to show the image in the post

I used to be able to click the image button, paste the link then click the button again and it would show the image in the thread, when I press the button now, nothing happens.

When I copy and paste the img bbcode and insert the url I just get the above text coming up.

This is going painfully slow.

I ordered a set of risers from the muppets down at motopike and they sent me the wrong ones (fair enough honest mistake) I emailed them straight away aksing nicely to send me the right ones and let me know how they want me to return the old ones and nothing. I heard nothing form them for 5 days, until of course I opened a paypal dispute and they answered in 3 minutes. Then to add insult to injury the tossers didn't bother posting the new one out yesterday. I've dealt with them before and found them to be great but this has just been s@*t customer service.

Last night I went to fit the new clutch hose and found that it has made 200mm too long :(

On the plus side the new brake lines are in, so once I have the new risers and the clutch hose I can start to rebuild everything.

Front brakes bled.

A load of new stainless screws on order.

Paypal claim raised against Motopike as they still haven't sent the right risers (a week since I told them they had sent the wrong ones), I'll source some others today.

Risers turned up last night after a long week and a half wait. Still haven't got a clutch hose as I need to return this to have it shortened back to the correct length.

I'll be rebuilding it this weekend and I'll post up some pictures, minus the clutch hose of course :)

Hi Wayno - how much longer are the Tuono cables compared to the Falco's? Im thinking of replacing my throttle cables on the blue bike, as they seem to be a bit 'sticky'. I'll be fittiing some slightly higher bars at the same time, so that would be a good time to invest in longer cables (providing they aren't massively longer). And how much were they, and where did you get them from?

They're about 6" longer, I got both the throttle ones and the choke one from wemoto for 10 each. I got the braided hoses from cobra performance, all 200mm longer than standard

Cheers Wayno. I think 6" longer is a bit much for what I'm planning, so have just ordered standard Falco ones.

It's definitely not going well, the fuel pump has stopped working (I assume I have popped a solder joint when I have the tank wedged up, but not investigated yet), and while I was bleeding the clutch master cylinder has sprung a leak.

Sorry to hear that Wayno. Still, better to discover those things now rather than when you're out on a ride somewhere... ?
