Weird temp occurance FIXED (spoke too soon)

Going to have to look at mine this winter. Used to run 67 , put in new coolant a couple of years back and it seemed to run a bit higher as in mostly mid 70's. Fan's kick in around 95 ok but even when it isn't that warm the general running temperature seems to be notching up. Thermostat? Radiators don't look too pretty either.

I'll probably be double posting this to the thread I started on a similar vein to maximise responses.
I'm not sure I've got the same problem here, but I was getting a "cold" warning even although the bike was hot and some spurious temp readings too.
The thermostat was suggested as a potential culprit in here and by a mate, but when I was checking it out the thermostat seemed to be doing its job (purely by feeling the hoses as the bike ran).
Anyway, there was some loss of cooland and the overflow bottle was dry. Filled up with coolant and burped as it was heating up, still getting dodgy readings, fans kicked in at 68 then off at 71.
Then the drips started from the sight tube which disintegrated at my touch. as did the one on the spare bike.
Not convinced this is my only problem, but I'll update once replaced.
And on that note, would clear fuel hose be resistant to Glycol?

Im fairly sure it would do the job, my coolant level hose went brittle so as a quick fix I used some of that clear stuff with the criss cross white fabric, if you know the stuff I mean.
Been there for nearly a year, it does harden with age so if I take it off it probably wont seal again on refit but it works !
