Gabro chip
Ok have had the forza chip in a while now and not totally impressed so ie no real difference even after a tune so going for a Gabro chip soon . Whats the general concensus with running a Gabro chip ?
BTW the bikes standard bar kn filter , quill pipes .

I just changed my mine from a standard chip with a PC3 to a gabro chip. I didn't notice a massive difference, but it has definitely improved the jerkiness around getting a neutral throttle and has made cornering a lot easier for me.
I even managed to stuff it down the inside of a 636 ninja on a 70mph motorway exit right hander (we wasn't expecting that, I was fully laden with luggage)
Worth the money for the improved smoothness alone in my opinion, but I don't know what the Forza one is like so can't compare.

Never had a Forza but had a PCIII without a custom map. Could never get the thing set up right to run with my mods. I'm sure a custom map for a PCIII would have made a real difference but I took the cheaper option of a Gabro chip which sorted everything out a treat.
Much smoother - especially the low speed stuff - gives much more confidence and effectively improves the handling as you can use the throttle to control the balance. Mid range and top end there too.
Worth every Euro-cent that it cost me.

I had pc111 on my fireblade a while back but the out right cost of buying it and custom map for about 5 extra horses was bloody stupid compared to buying a chip .D-Rider wrote:Never had a Forza but had a PCIII without a custom map. Totally agree. I never had my PCIII set up on a dyno, just downloaded a map that seemed to suit mods best, it was much better than standard, but the Gabro chip has given me a smoother bottom end (phnarr phnarr), a load more confidence and I can sell the PCIII for more than the Gabro chip cost. What to buy, what to buy???D-Rider wrote:Never had a Forza but had a PCIII without a custom map. Could never get the thing set up right to run with my mods. Unless the comparisons were done on the same bike using chips that were each designed for the set up of that bike, I wouldn't pay them too much attention.floakey wrote:I'd read a comparison between the 3 main chip suppliers and the forza came out sort of the best all rounder but not for me so I think Gabro came in as one with a bit more clout so yeah I'll give one a go and take it from there .
Chips just picked up on ebay or wherever may not contain the best maps for the bike on which they were used.
Also other things like TB balance should be re-done for each chip.

Cant comment on Forza or PC3 but swapping from standard to Gabro was for me like night n day, way smoother and although I am not the fastest rider I still get good MPG as well, for my money its Gabro every time.
Tell him what you've got & he will sort a map for you.

Im pretty certain the comparison was done on the same bike , if you google any of the chips it will pop up from one of the sites.D-Rider wrote:Unless the comparisons were done on the same bike using chips that were each designed for the set up of that bike, I wouldn't pay them too much attention.floakey wrote:I'd read a comparison between the 3 main chip suppliers and the forza came out sort of the best all rounder but not for me so I think Gabro came in as one with a bit more clout so yeah I'll give one a go and take it from there .
