Talan Racing

#1 Post by T.C. » Mon Aug 11, 2014 2:50 pm

Some of you may now that my firm sponsors Talan Tacing.

Talan Skeels Piggins is the only paraplegic racer in the UK who holds a full UK competition licence and is allowed to race against able bodied riders.

He is currently racing an adapted SV650 in the Thundersport series and at Brands at the weekend he finished 13th out of 34 starters. Not bad for someone who has to rely on upper body strength only.

Anyway, he is currently beng filmed for a documentary to try and spread the word about what can be achieved despite major handicaps.

The documentary is being produced by someone doing it in their spare time at no cost, but their are costs to be incurred for example editing, voice overs and so on.

More information is available at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/tala ... ocumentary

I am posting this just to make people aware, and hope that some of you feel as I do that this project is worth sponsoring so that the message can be put across to a wider audience.

Whether it is £3 or £5 (or more if you are feeling generous) every little helps.

I hope like me you feel that this is something worth donating a few quid to.

I went to chuck a tenner at this very worthy cause only to find that my newly issued debit card number is invalid or incorrect, as has happened with DVLA, Paypal and a few others.
Total wind up as it works in ATM's and shops but the number is not recognised.
Bollocks, fourth bloody visit to the bank with same problem :smt013

I didn't know you sponsored Talan! He's a mate of mine, I've been helping him when I can with his racing and The Bike Experience for the last few years :-D

We became title sponsors at the beginning of the year ad we are currently talking to him about next year when of course they will become a 3 man team.

We were asked initially because the team managers wife was involved in a bad crash a few years back, and because of the way we have handled the case (although the case is still ongoing due to the severity of the injuries) they felt comfortable asking us to sponsor them which I feel was a great compliment.

So I am very hopefull that our association with Talan will continue for a long time to come :smt003

I know Abi and Ant, they live across town. In fact I've known Ant for years, originally from the Fazer Owner's Club. Top bloke and a good chum :-)

One of the things I want to do next year is start sponsoring the team.

So are you McWilliams Solicitors?
