Noise: Have a listen please!

#1 Post by stoney » Thu Jul 03, 2014 12:37 pm

My bike seems to have developed a noise under acceleration. My positive side tells me something is loose, the other part of my brain tells me it's about to explode my balls off.

For reference, have a listen on the small clip of me accelerating after the intro clip - any ideas?

Urgh. vlogging :smt012

If you mean the high pitch buzzing, its probably not engine related, more likely a lose mounting somewhere...

Me thinks you are just shamelessly self promoting your channel...

No shameless self promotion here. I only share anything I've made on here that I may be of interest (such as an eprom installation one.) That's where I get my shameless self promotion fill. :smt002

I avoid sharing general uploads for the exact reason in your response.

Genuine concern over the noise as I've noticed it before but this is the first time I've noticed the mic pick it up, so it must have gotten louder. Any advice as to best places to start looking are most appreciated.

I'd start looking around the front subframe, fairings and clocks. If it is being picked up by a camera on top of your helmet it is unlikely to be low on the engine.

Definitely sounds like something is lose and vibrating.

I doubt you are about to blow the bike up.

Cheers. I'll have a look about at the weekend. Had to tighten the side stand bolts this morning as I noticed the stand had play in it, so may just go over the entire bloody thing.
