... my lovely red falco, Y reg year 2000. All standard apart from sprocket and chain. New tyres. 5,500 miles (yes, 392 per year!!!). Service and MOT in a couple of weeks.
Realistically what could I expect to get for it?
I think I'm going to have to sell...

Probably less than you should.
Having just spent a few weeks trawling the ads for mine. I've seen an 04 plate with 10k on go for £2200 on ebay. Wanted to bid on that one actually but unfortunately missed the end of the auction.
Prices range dramatically from dealers to private sellers.
I'd advertise it at around £2500. Probably should be worth more but depends if you want it to go or sit there while you shell out for adverts.

You should have done what I did and offered the stealer a bit more than the ending price of the auction...squadron Nero wrote:Probably less than you should.

There is also an 04 on MCN with 7500 on the clock for £2375.. so somewhere around there seems about right.

Was a private sale that one. That was when I first started looking at getting a new bike and wasn't even sure if I wanted a Falco back then so I let it go. Looking back now though....spiderwheels wrote:You should have done what I did and offered the stealer a bit more than the ending price of the auction...squadron Nero wrote:Probably less than you should.
