front forks rubbing

Sorry for the size,Im not that clued up.
Does anybody else suffer with this and got a solution,I presume its rubbing against the fender.

I have two very similar rub spots on my forks.
About 2 inches further up than that, weirdly on the inside of the left leg and the outside of the right leg.
Cant see what causes it :smt012

I know what you mean mate,there's no markings on the fender

Yes, I've seen that as well. In some cases I suspect it's brake hoses rubbing against the fork legs, but obviously not where your marks are.

I've similar but a lot worse on my bike but think it is corrosion. Mines in hidden away places which maybe I didn't get to when trying to clean off the salt during winter.

Good point Keith. It does seem to happen in nooks and crannies that possibly don't get the salt washed off as well as more exposed areas.

Yes - corrosion was my thought too.

Certainly brake hoses can abrade the finish but not in that location.

Can't repair them But coat them in Vaseline to make them water proof.
