Couple of problems I need help with...

#1 Post by falcomunky » Tue May 22, 2007 4:20 pm

How do all.
I have a couple of little probs I need help with, (more if you ask my Missus).
First up; Suspenders! :smt007
Can somebody let me know the best way to get my sussies, (front and back), setup properly? I mean either at a track day or at a shop?
Ive found and used the RSV standard settings but to little effect. I figure a spring and oil change is prolly required up front and a full service of the rear shock, but having little or no money at the mo I'd just like to get things improved.
I think the main problem is that the front end is 'older' than the rear in mileage/use terms and Im not 100% savvy enough to compensate the settings to get the proper 'balance', if that makes sense? :smt009
I live close to Croft Circuit, so if anyone happens to be going, (weekend or Friday afternoons only), fer a track day and knows a sussie-sorter who is also gonna be there; Please let me know!
I also need to know costs and what I might need to bring etc.
I assume its a 'ride in-ride out' kinda thing? What if the shock length needs adjusting? :smt017
I cant send anything away to be sorted as she is my only form of transport.
Anybody?

Next up; Vibration! :smt013
I mentioned in another thread that the vibration levels have increased a little of late. I think its a sync issue, (its not only on the chain side; Its actually a bit worse on the throttle side), but have wondered wether it could be a camchain problem? :smt017
Advice please on my vibe problem as well as how to free the tensioner, (I assume its like most other bikes - A bolt into the rear of the head that you can, with the motor running, 'dynamically' tighten the chain, ie; 'pop' the sprung blade back into place?), and how to sort the sync issue!
Ideally, somebody who lives near to me will have the sync tool and the know-how to use it.... Or know a good shop that can do it cheap, (once Ive eliminated the tensioner that is).
Help!
Im getting bad pins n needles in my right hand after 10 miles! :smt010

Nolimits have 100% suspension with them every trackday. He charges £40 to set your suspension up all day but if your not doing a TD then you'll have to go for a ride out and come back to croft i guess :smt002 My mate got it done and was quite pissed off he improved it ten-fold first set of adjustments after spending hours fiddling with settings himself.

Hi Fm,

If you PM Greg he'll let you know about superbike salvage in Felling. The chap there races and is at Croft every Tuesday. I used to pop in there a bit when I worked near there and he is a top bloke who knows his stuff. Greg had his Falco on the rolling road there last week and is getting more engine setup and suspension stuff done. (He'll tell you more i'm sure). We could all get together up here and see if we can play around with diff settings between bikes if you like? (You, Pierre, Greg and I + others).

HTH

Both in nice n tight.
I forgot to mention that there is also a faint high pitch rattle to accompany said vibes. I think its 'gone-out' a bit too quick to be the valve clearances though... :smt012
